To develop and lead the worship music ministry for our church, in consultation with the senior pastor and other team members, in a way that is consistent with our mission, values, and theology.
Select and plan music for Sunday and special services.
Participate in the creative planning of the Sunday and special services with the Senior Pastor and Worship Team.
Recruit, equip, motivate, supervise and shepherd music team leaders and musicians.
Develop musical teams and ensembles for services.
Direct outreach events into the community via performances at other organizations as appropriate.
Maintain a strong prayer base for the music ministry.
Communicate faithfully with the Senior Pastor and staff.
Participate in the life and ministry of the church.
Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Bachelor’s degree in Music, BA–music (degrees preferred) or adequate experience.
Minimum five years’ experience in church-related setting.
Ability in wide range of styles including Christian classics (hymns) and contemporary music.
Ability to lead worship and to train others as individual and team worship leaders.
Professional quality keyboard (opt if applying Music Director of choir and hand bell)
Ability to direct vocal and hand bell choirs .
Composing, arranging, writing, and sequencing music. Writings remain with this church as intellectual property.
Producing and directing special events, musicals and programs.
Experience with technical aspects of contemporary services: for example, sound boards, theater lights, video editing, etc.—a plus.
The DMM is accountable to the Senior Pastor, who will give general oversight and assign duties as required. The Pastor will make recommendations to the SPRC as to the performance and conduct of the DMM.
The SPRC shall, with input from the Senior Pastor and the DMM, evaluate the DMM annually.
Compensation shall be reviewed annually and adjusted as required by the SPRC, subject to approval by the Finance Committee and the Church Council.
This is a part-time position. The hours are determined by the number of hours necessary to plan and achieve the required tasks. It is expected that the DMM will be present at Choir Practice, Worship and Holy Days in which the church has services, as determined by the Senior Pastor. Participating in Church Council and Worship Team meetings is highly encouraged.
If candidate also has the musical skills required for the keyboardist/accompanist, the hours and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
